About

I’m Punit — a software engineer who builds products and businesses.

Engineering has been my profession for more than five years. Building independent products and businesses is what I'm doing with it next.

The short version

I’m a full-stack software engineer with over five years of experience in software development. Most of that time has been spent on the web — building interfaces in React, APIs and services in Node.js, and data layers in MongoDB — the MERN stack, and more recently Next.js and TypeScript.

Along the way I learned that writing good code is only part of the job. Software is useful when it solves a real problem for real people, is pleasant to use, and makes sense for the business behind it. That’s the lens I bring to every project.

I’m now building independently under my own name. That means two things: helping businesses with websites and web applications as a freelance developer, and creating products of my own — so far a browser game and a published children’s coloring book, with more experiments underway.

I keep these ventures deliberately small and honest. Each one is a chance to learn something new — game design, print publishing, e-commerce — and to apply the same engineering discipline to a different kind of product.

What I’m building

Everything sits under one name, but each branch has its own purpose and its own honest status.

  • Web Studio

Freelance web design and development for small businesses, startups and independent professionals.

  • Game Development

Browser games built from scratch. One released title so far — Endless Runner — with more planned as I keep learning the craft.

  • Publishing

Independently published books, starting with Snug Hollow — a children's coloring book available in paperback on Amazon.

  • Labs

Experiments, developer tools and side projects — the place where new product ideas get tested before they become anything bigger.

  • Future Ventures

Researching product-based businesses, including e-commerce. Nothing is on sale yet — new ventures will appear here when they launch.

Tools I work with

A modern JavaScript and TypeScript stack, chosen for reliability and long-term maintainability rather than novelty.

Front end

  • React
  • Next.js
  • TypeScript
  • Tailwind CSS

Back end

  • Node.js
  • Express
  • REST APIs

Data

  • MongoDB

Delivery

  • Vercel
  • Git & GitHub
  • Resend (email)

How I work

Practical engineering, measured by outcomes.

Good software sits where engineering, user experience and business goals meet. I keep all three in view — whether the project is a client's website or one of my own products.

  1. Understand the problem

Start with the business goal and the people using the product, not the technology.

  2. Build the right solution

Choose the simplest approach that solves the real problem well, and build it carefully.

  3. Launch

Ship something real early. Feedback from actual users beats assumptions.

  4. Measure

Look at what people actually do — enquiries, clicks, speed, drop-off — rather than guessing.

  5. Improve

Make focused changes based on what you learned, and repeat.

Have something in mind? Let's build it.

Whether you need a professional website, a digital product, or a technical collaborator, I'd be happy to hear about your project.
